We woke up this morning to pouring rain so we decided to go to Howe Caverns since they are all underground. It stopped raining long enough for us to have lunch outside before we went on our tour. Howe Caverns were discovered by a farmer who lost his cow. As he searched for his cow he felt some cold air coming from underground. He burrowed out a hole and realized there was a huge cavern below the ground. Forty two degree water runs through the cavern and the temperature always stays a constant fifty two degrees. They have been doing tours in these caverns since the 1800’s. It is an 80 minute walking tour with a short boat ride all underground, about 18 stories underground. It was really neat to see.
After dinner once again we made our way to the dock to do some fishing. Adam caught his first fish and was so excited. He now had the fishing fever and didn't want to stop. We finally made him come in when it started raining again. We ended our evening by toasting marshmallows and making smores in the fireplace. Always fun and always tasty!
Mom...Check out the picture of Adam in the phone booth. Now he know what one is!
